How To Keep Up The Self Lovin On Vacation- Day 364: 365 Radical Self Love Project

radical self love kelsey grantVacations used to mean a free for all in my world- reckless abandon for my routines, health and well being. My late teens and early 20’s were seriously dedicated to being the life of the party and testing my body and mind to push to the limits of what was possible and healthy.

Having been consciously immersed into the world of Radical Self Love for the past year and a half my approach to vacations has dramatically shifted as well. Over the past year and a half I have come to really understand I love feeling good. My habits and routines are in place not to limit me or restrict me but to empower me into feeling good more of the time.

Eating really crappy food isn’t really much of a exciting thing anymore as my body reacts pretty intensely to large amounts of processed foods. Now this isn’t to say I never indulge. Of course I do- I just don’t over do it like I used to. Vacations used to be the time when I really would go over board and justify it to myself because hell, I was on vacation.

With my ever growing self confidence, self love and self value I’ve created a new way of vacationing for myself that clearly works and has me continue to rock out as my high vibin self.

How to keep up the self lovin on vacation

1. Pre planning.

A little planning goes a long way. In the case of this particular vacation the day before we left I was finishing up a 3.5 day juice cleanse. Knowing my body would have to be eased back into whole foods I made a declaration to our crew that I would be responsible for my own eats and then I did a little meal planning. I found a local natural/whole food market in one of the towns we drove through and stocked up on organic local produce and gentle whole foods that would compliment my cleanse and be easy to prepare.

Back in the day I likely would have had the same desire to eat clean but I would have been way to self conscious and insecure of voice my desires. What I learned this time around is no one else really cared that I wanted to do my own thing nor did anyone negatively question me. Because I owned it from a place of peace, inner alignment and love my positive inention was picked up by my peeps and respected.

2. Find the local gems.

Do a little research either before arriving or when you get there to suss out places that are in alignment with your lifestyle. Conveniently there is a raw, vegan, gluten free bakery literally down the street from where we are staying. We are in a seriously small town and I still managed to find an alternative that allows me to enjoy dessert just in a super healthy capacity. The gems are always around- it’s up to you to find them.

3. Stay active- just change it up.

My body is used to regular movement and exercise however often on vacation there isn’t a gym or yoga studio near by or accessible. Instead this morning I walked down to the lake set up on the dock, meditated for 30 minutes then followed it up with a 30 minute gentle yoga session. After breakfast I hit the hiking trails with my homies and rocked a mountain trail hike for 2 hours. There are always fun ways to get the body moving on vacation, swimming, playing, hiking, make shift yoga- the possibilities are there- it just takes you to open up to them.

4. Own what you need.

I run an online business, I LOVE writing. Just because I’m on vacation doesn’t mean I want to stop doing the things I derive value and joy from. I’m also not going to stop being of service to my community because I’m taking some time off. I set up my business to manage itself for the most part with just a few small check ins throughout my time away. I also communicate to the people I’ll be on vacation with, in advance, what my needs are. When I’m writing and being creative I’m really happy, which is why I do it every day- vacation is no exception. I don’t write because I have to I write because I love to. Big difference. To honour that which I love I just communicate to my peeps that each day at some point I’m going to sneak away for some solo creation time. I usually keep it to about an hour so I still have loads and heaps of time to play and enjoy the company of my amazing friends and family.

5. Enjoy life.

Yes yes yes! Vacations are meant to be fun and to fulfill the purpose of enjoying yourself. Enjoyment means different things to different people so get clear on what things make you super happy to do while you are on vacation and then just do them. I love listening to great music, writing, reading, swimming, tanning, running in nature, hiking, cooking, lounging, watching movies when it rains, eat ice cream, drink really really good vino, laughing, playing cards, creating something new, being a positive contribution to the local community- the list goes on and on. The point is to get to know you so you know exactly what enjoying life looks like and feels like to you!

Ultimately vacations can be an opportunity to further the self love vibes and keep those feel good practices in full swing. You are always the conscious creator of your experience and how things go really depend on one thing- YOU. Get clear on what you need to feel great and what you want to do and experience during your vacation, then communicate this information as clearly as you can to the people around you. Standing in your truth is one of the greatest acts of self love we could ever learn to do on the regular. The great thing is when you have surrounded yourself with the right people, honouring your needs will completely resonate with them and may just inspire them to invite more self lovin into their lives ūüėČ

5 Simple Ways To Start Loving Where You Are- Day 363: 365 Radical Self Love Project

radical self love kelsey grantIf there is one thing I have noticed in all my years as a coach and facilitator is that a large portion of peeps have challenge being ok with they are in the present moment- never mind actually loving where they are. The path of Radical Self Love supports us in learning what our own experience of peace of mind is and in the process we end up realizing we actually really love who we are and the life we lead- wherever we might be.

5 Self Loving Steps to Loving Where You Are

1. Drop the lack and limitation.

Nothing much changes when we’re in an incompatible vibe to that which we seek. Meaning we must be in a state of harmony and peace before the manifestation ball really gets going. If we are fully consumed with labouring and convincing ourselves and the people around us how much lack we are experiencing the Universe responds to your state of repeated focus by sending you more of what you are so dominantly focused on. When you make a conscious effort to drop the lack talk and instead focus on all you do have you bring yourself immediately into a place of love and appreciation for the present.

2. Make joy a priority.

Each day choose one positive simple actionable. The sole focus of this action is to usher in massive joy. There are a lot of things you do or have done in your life that just make you freaking happy. These are often the simplest things- going for a walk in the woods, cracking jokes with friends, snuggling a animal, playing with crystals or oracle cards (one of my personal fav’s)- it will be different for everyone and there is a high probability the actionable will be different for you every day depending what’s up and how you are feeling. Doing things you love and that bring out the happiness within, support you immediately in feeling lit up about the now.

3. Take inventory on your accomplishments.

Humans have developed this habit of diminishing their accomplishments and not giving themselves credit for the awesomeness they have achieved. Of course we feel like shit and resist where we are at when we do this- it never feels good to feel like we are under performing or failing. When you are clear of how much you have actually achieved over your lifetime and even the course of a few short months your heart will settle into a place of great elation and calm down an over active mind. If it’s challenging at first to find evidence I would highly recommend you take this practice, make it a regular part of your self love routine and write those wins down as they happen.

When I was in a really rough place a few years ago I kept an evidence and accomplishment journal. Every day before bed I would write down all the actions I took that contributed to the expansion of my business and my dreams. I also recorded ALL the manifestations, attractions, accomplishments and wins of that day alone. It became very clear very quickly I achieve a lot more than I give myself credit for and I experience so many wins that my ego tries with all it’s might to diminish and bury. If this is where you are at- start here and watch those vibes soar.

4. Get still.

Seriously, start meditating. When the mind is an untamed circus you will inevitably feel out of control, overwhelmed and unhappy in the now. When we take our power back, get still and confront what is actually going on in our minds we can consciously direct a different result. Facing and embracing the monkey mind is the first step to causing a new and expanded result. A regular practice of stillness helps us to more easily distinguish between the racket of the ego and the truth of our hearts. If you have never meditated before sitting silent alone with your thoughts is likely uncomfortable and deters you. So set yourself up for success, find an avenue that works for now and work towards sitting in silence one day. Start with short guided meditations. Start small and create a vibration of success by achieving an abundance of little milestones. Find ways that work for you and forget the rest.

5. Celebrate someone else.

When the ego has gone into mega overdrive (aka when we think we should be anywhere other than where we are) we‚Äôve gone into full self absorption and separation land. When you celebrate another person, praise their wins or just find something you are grateful for about them, you fast track your way out of the pit of self absorption despair and enter the beautiful vibe of being a positive contribution to someone else. When we are kind and extend acts of kindness towards others our hearts crack wide open. An open heart is a present heart. A present heart is a content and happy heart. A happy heart isn‚Äôt trying to ‚Äúget‚ÄĚ somewhere other than where it is. It understands there is an ever present and ever evolving progression to our experience and it is inevitable in a Universe that is friendly and for you, that more goodness is on it‚Äôs way and that goodness will arrive in perfect divine timing.

From Fear To Love In One Minute: Inspiration For Your Soul- Day 352: 365 Radical Self Love Project

Today my wonderful and inspiring partner posted a fabulous one minute video on his social media feed.

I personally am a big fan of Jim Carrey as he is a fabulous advocate for the human potential and power to create our experience through our activation of either fear or love.

I really dig it when people in the public eye use their platform to spread messages of inspiration, hope, possibility and love.

In this one minute video Jim anchors in some really solid perspective. “You can fail at what you don’t want so you might as well take a chance doing what you love”. I completely agree. We have just as much opportunity to create a live filled with abundance, connection and love as we do creating one filled up with lack a limitation.

The way your life unfolds is up to you. The outcomes you produce in your life are directly linked to the quality of thoughts, feelings and actions you repetitively cultivate. At any given time you are either in the domain of fear or the domain of love.

RSL actionable to shift from fear to love in no time:¬†Ask better, more empowered questions from life. Instead of saying “Why me?” take your power back and replace the lack mindset with a better question:

  • “What inside me is trying to emerge through this challenge?”
  • “What am I being called to learn, grow or strengthen within me”

Why Inspiration Is Key In Maintaining A Consistent Positive Flow-Day 342: 365 Radical Self Love Project

Inspiration is all around, all we have to do is tune into it.

When we conscious direct our attention to seek out inspiration we set ourselves on the path to feeling good. When we feel good we are more effective, more productive and certainly more pleasurable to get along with. This is why daily inspiration is a must in a Radical Self Love practice.

Taking even 5 minutes out of a busy day to watch something that brings you joy, to read an uplifting story, to look at pictures or images that make your heart flutter can cause a massive surge in your personal happiness and also your capacity to create substantial results in your life.

It is a daily practice of mine to invest at minimum 15-30 minutes during my day into inspiration investigation. During this time I give myself full permission to seek out anything that will bring me joy, cause my spirit to rustle with excitment and to get those high vibes flowing.

Inspiration and Consistent Positive Flow

When I get inspired I’m immediately in a super high vibe. When I am in a high vibe I enter a state of flow. Flow is where all the magic of life happens- increased synchronicity, manifestation and all around good things happen in a state of flow. Doors open, opportunities show up, life gets easier and inspiration helps us get into this state of flow and maintain our energy there for as long as possible.

I am always facinated by the human capacity for movement, creativity and expression and dance brings all these aspects right to life.

Starting The Day By Nourishing The Soul- The Importance Of A Daily Self Love Routine-Day 334: 365 Radical Self Love Project

“How things go depends on how they start”- these are lyrics from one of my original songs and one of my mottos in life.

I have found this rings true in relationships- the relationships starting off on the grounds of truth, honesty and love always go in that same direction, like wise the relationships I’ve had that started off as secrets, with lots of lies or lack of integrity ended up going further in those directions.

I have also found in my day to day this motto is also true. When I invest into myself and my wellbeing first thing in the morning it sets the tone for the remainder of the day. Days when I rock my soul-nourishing morning routine I am happier, I am more effective with my time, I am way more productive and I am way easier to get along with.

As I keep stepping into my power and truth it becomes more and more clear that the foundation of my success is deeply rooted in my willingness to nourish my soul, take actions which bring me into vibrational alignment and setting intentions around the direction of my day.

When I first stepped into the world of spirituality and personal development I learned exactly what those specific actionables were that would have me be at my best. After years of testing, trial and assessment I lasered in on the top “actions” that would lead me feeling nourished and in the highest vibrational alignment.

Why is this nourishment and alignment so important?

In the words of Abraham Hicks: “That which is like unto itself is drawn” meaning energies which are in alignment are magnetized and pulled towards each other.

When I take the time every morning to get my vibes as high as possible (my best/highest vibrational alignment varies from day to day) I ensure that I put myself on the best possible path for the day. Meaning when my vibes are optimal I attract amazing people, circumstances and opportunities. I also get to experience the blissful power of flow- where I can trust the Universe has my back and relax into allowing things to unfold naturally.

Soul-Nourishment

When I don’t do my soul nourishment in the morning I am higher strung, way more stressed out, combative, irritable, impatient and I attract people, situations and circumstances that I don’t want to be experiencing.

The only reason I experiencing anything I do, is because I am a vibrational match.

The only way to change what I am attracting or experiencing is to change my vibes. How do I change my vibes? I take actions that are in alignment with nourishing my heart, my soul, my body and my mind.

This is what my soul nourishing/Radical Self Love routine looks like:

  • ¬†Leisurely awake
  • ¬†Spend 5-15 minutes doing some positive self reflection and positive life reflection (just thinking of positive aspects)
  • Gratitude journal minimum one page
  • 6 Minutes of Ego Harmonizing (breath work/meditation)
  • RSL Mantra Meditation/ Inner Guide chit chat
  • Drink 500ml-1litre water
  • I usually add in exercise but some days I do my exercise later in the day and I do take a day or two off a week to rest my body.

These are the things I know I must do each morning to keep myself in tip top shape mentally, physically, emotionally and spiritually. All of these actionables are vibe aligners which always bring me to the most exciting, fulfilling and incredible places, spaces and circumstances life has to offer.

In my opinion when we glorify being busy it is often a way to avoid doing the things we need to do most but maybe don’t want to do because they are uncomfortable, take energy and time. 1 More Sleep Until My Man Comes Home!!! 293: 365 Radical Self Love Project

Only 1 more sleep until my man gets back and I am so freaking stoked!!

After 2 weeks of being apart he will be coming home tomorrow night and my heart couldn’t be happier. Today as a beautiful way to wrap this entire adventure up we hopped on a call and just reflected on all the positive aspects of our time apart has had on our relationship.

Some of the highlights:

1. We learned how to more effectively communicate our needs to each other.

2. We had the opportunity to have really deep, authentic and new level conversations about our relationship, where we are headed and share our excitement in co-creating in this new direction.

3. We got a chance to really miss each other.

4. We explored new creative territory with one another and infused this new creativity into our daily communication.

While I am grateful for all of these beautiful gifts we have acquired over our time away from each other I am most certainly ready for him to come back.

So tonight I am going to celebrate this massive accomplishment (being apart and being ok) with my favourite dinner and a lil vino and enjoy a super chill vibe in the house flying solo for one more evening. I feel so blessed to have the relationship that I do and it most certainly has required work, positive intention, commitment to both our healing and a desire to co-create the relationship of our dreams.

After todays reflection I’d say so far we are doing pretty freaking amazing ūüėČ

A Very Romantic Gesture To Heal The Heart- Day 292: 365 Radical Self Love Project

Following up yesterday’s post of asking for what you need I was gifted again this morning with a second love letter from my partner.

Immediately upon reading it I was giddy with happiness and it completely activated my awareness of love’s presence within my being. I took this vibration throughout my entire day and allowed the blissful energy of love to permeate everything I did, created and experienced.

I was just leaving a coffee shop this afternoon after finishing up my notes for my Relationship Course tonight and I was gifted another surprise from my partner.

To me I absolutely love it when he speaks to me through music. I find it incredibly romantic and it blasts my heart open even more. Words of affirmation are one of my main love languages (receiving love that is) and when I receive music I really tune into the message that is being shared lyrically. It stirs something in me.

The romantic gesture and gift I received was this song posted below. Immediately upon listening it sounded exactly like our relationship and I could hear the truth inside of each lyric. My tears welled and spilled over and my heart began to swell with gratitude, appreciation and in all honesty a lil raw vulnerability. He was able to activate a very delicate place in me that is deeply tender and so open through the sharing of this song.

When I spoke with him a few minutes later he had mentioned he had heard this song and immediately thought of me and our relationship together. He let me know that every part of the song was real and honest for him and in those moments another layer within me healed. We levelled up to a new place of connectivity, joy and harmony.

So here is the song for all of you to enjoy and I hope it activates your hearts in a beautiful and loving way as well! So freaking magical! ‚̧

“All About Me Days” Are The BEST- Day 288- 365 Radical Self Love Project

Today has been an all about me day.

I made a choice today to do only things that would nourish my heart and leave me feeling happy and fulfilled- that is what I mean by an all about me day. These days take a tremendous amount of inward reflection and presence,

To know what to do to nourish my heart I have to be tuned into it.

To know what to do to feel at my best I must be present to what I desire.

To know what I need to feel fuelled and fulfilled I have to be aware of what my body is communicating to me and then have the COURAGE to follow the guidance.

So this is what my Radical Self Love Day looked like:

1. This morning instead of pushing myself to wake up early and go to yoga I simply asked my body what it needed. After 5 days of workouts and intensity my body said REST. So I listened. I lounged in bed and I skipped yoga- and savoured every second of my leisurely start to the day.

2. Before heading out for the morning I grounded out in gratitude journalling and some crystal meditation- YUM.

3. I went and met up with a fellow high vibin, soul connected lady friend- gabbed over coffee and inspiration. Self Loving- Absolutely

4. I enjoyed my walk home in the rain and listened to an audio book.

5. I talked to my man mid afternoon- such a lovely surprise! Heart happy?! CHECK

6. I met up with one of my besties and we went on a little shopping adventure. Grabbed a coffee, shared a delicious donut, did some shopping, explored some hidden gem stores we’d never been too, laughed, chatted and completely enjoyed our time connecting.

7. Returned home for some delicious home cooked Moroccan Stew, a lil B-School, some writing and a super chill relaxing night.

Taking the time to do things that nourish your soul is an absolute requirement if we want to really amp up the feelings of happiness, fulfillment and connection to something bigger than ourselves- LOVE.

Make it a regular practice to set aside a few hours each week dedicated only to doing things that just make you freaking happy and stoked on life- the rest of your week will benefit and so will everyone who gets to come into contact with the happy, fulfilled and heart centred YOU.

Causing Pain or Causing Happiness: Wisdom From My Yoga Mat- Day 284: 365 Radical Self Love Project

Today at the yoga studio we are practicing the spiritual law of Karma, other wise known as cause and effect.

For every action there is an impact, a seed is planted with every thought, feeling and action we take. Those seeds will at some point be the cause of an effect. All situations in our lives can always be traced to the originating thought, feeling and action whether it be positive or negative.

My dear friend and fabulous instructor said something at the end of class that really struck a chord with me. She heard this from one of her teachers growing up and I felt it had incredible significance for me right now. She said:

“We either make decisions that cause pain or decisions that cause happiness”.

I reflected on this in a few ways.

First I reflected being the cause of an effect in another person. Every interaction I have with someone holds the opportunity to either cause them pain or cause them happiness. Certainly in my past I’ve made crap loads of decisions that absolutely lead to the experience of pain in someone else. I’ve also made a tonne of choices that lead to the experience of happiness in someone else.

With this increased awareness I really have brought this question to the fore front of my mind when it comes to my interactions with another: “Is what I am about to do or say going to cause an experience of pain or happiness- either immediately or in the future?

This simple check in with myself allows me the conscious space to be acting from a place of integrity, honesty and respect.

The second way I reflected on it was more personal. I reflected that every thought, feeling or action I take has the potential to either cause me a future experience of pain or happiness. It has become very clear to me over these past few weeks of deep heart healing and soul work that I have been engaging in a major addiction to negative obsession (more on this in a future posty post). These obsessive thoughts I’ve been “indulging” in have lead to the effect of feeling shit, anxious and fearful- which is not good for anyone, especially me.

Inside of this super clear ahhh haa! moment today I can see how my insecurities have been rooted in the choices of thoughts, feelings and actions I was taking. This ultimately is the cause of my pain (even though it was an unconscious behaviour, the choice still lead to the pain).

Now the unconscious has been made conscious and I’m already beginning to see a shift. I “outed” myself to a couple girlfriends today and I also told this truth to my partner. Doing so reduces my access to indulge in these patterns. When we share our awakenings and awarenesses of our patterns to our close peeps they generally don’t give us space to keep running them, because they see us as someone who is capable of overcoming this layer of growth.

So here I am tonight “outing” myself to all you beauties. My major shift will be happening inside- in the ways in which I think, feel and act towards myself and my relationship. The self awareness muscle I’ve built when it comes to others and understanding the future impact I am responsible for with them, will serve me greatly in taking on this new area of internal transformation. I will keep you all posted on this internal journey as I have a feeling this one hold a pretty massive treasure inside ūüôā

I was blessed to be featured in her amazing project a little bit ago. My experience shooting my feature was so amazing. It was the first time the two of us had met in person and right from the second we met up we were on a hilarious adventure. It was like meeting up with a soul sista, so natural, hilarious and playful.

 

I absolutely adore her and I am so excited to share her and her radiance with you all today. Eyoälha is one of those people who just radiates happiness, creativity and youthful energy. Her playful approach to our shoot made it so easy to relax and rock out in the creative flow which I completely appreciate and love about her.

We love that she is the clearing for this type of positive joyful self expression and this is why we have chosen her today.

She is here to help us all remember what it means and feels like to be alive, awake and have incredible amounts of fun in the process of creating our dreams into reality. This dear friends is a beautiful legacy to leave and I can tell you all with full certainty that this woman is living her legacy full out and that makes my heart happy and makes her a most wonderful example of greatness to us all.

She reminds me of the value of exploration, travel and having loads and heaps of fun along the way which is always a fabulous reminder when life can get a little serious or heavy. Her brilliant bright light is a gift to us all and I am so honoured to spotlight her amazingness today!

Her mission to travel the world taking fun photos of creative, passionate people jumping for joy and create a book with 1000 photos of joyful jumpers is pretty epic! She truly wishes to showcase the importance and influence of joy and positive perspective in our lives. She feels the more people nourish joy and make it a priority in their own lives, the more it will inadvertently have an effect on others as well. By making the conscious choice to focus on viewing life in a positive uplifting way the more our lives as whole will be uplifted- we couldn’t agree more¬†
