The 6 Most Precious Values My Dad Has Taught Me- Day 359: 365 Radical Self Love Project

It’s Fathers Day and I couldn’t be happier to celebrate my amazing poppa bear.

In honour of his amazing influence on my life tonight I will share with you all some of the most precious things my Dad has taught me throughout my life.

The 6 Most Precious Values My Dad Has Taught Me

The value of being happy-

My Dad is one of the most jolly people I know. He is always the first to crack a joke, pull a prank and just laugh at life. This has often reminded me when I get too serious (which in all honesty is pretty regular) to lighten up, laugh and find the humour in life.

The value of being dedicated-

My entire life I watched my Dad infuse all the work he’s ever done with such intention and dedication. He shows up and shows up 100%. I remember when he was my soccer coach in the seven years he coached me and my team he never once missed a practice or a game. He honoured all of our time and effort by being on time, ending on time and showing up every time, even when I’m sure he didn’t feel like it. This dedication has impacted me more than he may ever know. I learned from a very early age to do my best to respect others time and energy and when I say I’m going to do something- do it. A profound life lesson.

The value of doing complete work-

I certainly have acquired my fathers passion for order and meticulous action. I am most at peace when everything matches, is in it’s place and nicely organized. This quality brings a certain peace to my life and truly makes things a whole heck of a lot more workable.

The value of acceptance-

This is a tough lesson for a lot of people, myself included. Having my Dad as a role model enabled me to more easily come to terms with the fact that in life there are things we can’t change and circumstances we can’t control. We can either fight against these conditions, resist them or come into a peaceful acceptance. I truly believe through his example is where I came up with this knowing that “everything that happens is the perfect thing to happen”. This particular motto has helped me immensely when in situations that didn’t go the way I expected or sometimes wanted.

The value of love-

No matter what I’ve done or how I have behaved my Dad has loved me. There has never once been a moment where I questioned his love or believed it wasn’t there. I’ve come to learn we all express and receive love in different capacities and once I figured this out I was even more present to the abundant love and support my father has for me and my brother.

The value of following your heart-

My Dad has been a living breathing example of taking the biggest risk of all- following the path of your dreams. I have learned that this path is often challenging as we face many internal and sometimes external obstacles on the route to fulfilling our hearts desires- but the value of his example resides in not being stopped by this fact. I learned by watching my Dad it was safe to pursue my passions and to follow my heart- knowing that it might not work out but to at least give it a go. No regrets.

I am so deeply blessed to have such an incredible man for a father, someone who has taught me so much and inspired me to go for my dreams and live a life I am truly worthy of. I look forward to all the many years ahead to learn from him and continue to build upon this truly beautiful relationship I have the honour and privilege of sharing with my poppa. Love my Dad so very much!

To all the amazing fathers out there I celebrate you in my heart today. Thank you for all you do. You are loved.

Back In The Flow of RSL Workshops and Community Goodness- Day 216: 365 Radical Self Love Project

Ahhhhhhh how I love facilitating live events and community workshops!

Tonight we got right back to it and did the first RSL workshop of 2014.

While I am honestly very tired, and my tank is empty- my heart is full and bursting with happiness. The beautiful tribe of women who showed up tonight were in complete harmony with each other and with the vibe of Radical Self Lovin.

We rocked an incredible workshop and shared some truly precious heart connecting moments. I am so blessed to have met three new beautiful Goddess women and I am so incredibly grateful to have these women in my life and in my tribe.

Tonights conversations really got me present to the fact that we are all dealing with such similar life experiences and if we just open up to each other we can truly learn so much. The power of the Goddess and Goddess tribe is so nourishing and delicious and I am so blessed to have a tribe of these calibre of women in my life and in this RSL community!

If you really wanted to be part of the conversation tonight and couldn’t make it or live in another part of the world send me an email and I’ll hook you up with a virtual option ($11). Email me @

I absolutely LOVE that this is my life and I get to have these conversations, hold sacred space with a tribe of Goddesses, interact with this INCREDIBLE Radical Self Love community and honestly live my dreams each day.

Thank you all for being such a beautiful part of my journey and of this life experience! You are loved and cherished more than you may know! xo

A Radically Loving Approach To Handling Drama Queens and Haters- Day 213: 365 Radical Self Love Project

What someone says about you says more about them than it does about you.

It’s inevitable when working in the public eye there are bound to be people who just gotta hate and drum up drama no matter what.

I first will preface this with a mad acknowledgement that in 213 days of spreading the love today was the first and only experience of our team at RSL receiving a non-supportive and hate filled message. This means that 212 Days of running this community have been filled with generous support, kindness, possibility and juicy amazing love and that dear lovers is absolutely incredible.

I know all to well the spirit of transformation and evolution. With it comes the shadow side of jelousy, anger, envy and hate. These are all a function of a fear based consciousness. No need on our part to judge in fact it is a call for us all to love more.

I can’t think of a more perfect day for this to happen. A day of celebration of the great MLK Jr where we are reminded of the power of love.

“Darkness cannot drive out darkness, only light can do that. Hate cannot drive out hate, only LOVE can do that”.

The only way to truly eradicate fear is to starve it of energy.

What we give our attention to grows. So if we get caught up in someone’s drama, their ego-ic illusion and their hate filled heart- we activate those energies with us. When we activate them we open the space to activate this consciousness in others.

The only answer is to choose love

Dealing with the Drama

beautifuAs children we learned if you don’t have anything nice to say don’t say anything at all.

This is the absolute best course of action when dealing with someone who is completely off the charts and more interested in spewing their unhappiness onto others and more committed to their misery than anything else.

Here is the thing we can only support those who are willing to be supported. Not everyone is ready to have the fullness of love, happiness and bliss enter into their experience. We have to release our agendas of what we want for them, even if it is an agenda of peace, blessings and love, and let them go through what they need to.

1350Keep in mind when dealing with haters or drama queens of any kind they most likely have not learned any other way to get attention or get their needs met. Again, this is not for you to fix. They have to come into this awareness on their own, in their own time and transform it for themselves.

imagesFinally when dealing with drama, if you are going to hold anything, hold the space of love. Pray for them. Send love to them- and mean it. I’ve come to learn that only hurt people hurt people. I know someones fear based actions are actually nothing personal. When people are seeking conflict externally they are doing so to match the internal conflict they are experiencing. In other words they are already deeply suffering. As messengers of love we need not add and compound their experience of conflict and suffering. Knowing this we can see them through the lens of compassion and hold the best possible outcome in our hearts for them.

Healing the Haters One Heart Mist At A Time

One of my favourite methods for this (and this works with anyone whom you experience a challenge with) is a visualization and forgiveness exercise.

I get into a comfy seated position, grab some high vibin crystals, close my eyes and take a couple deep cycles of breath.

I then visualize the person who is in need of love.

I imagine a pink love mist (I call this heart misting) emanate from my chest and surround  their entire body.

From there I look at them face to face, look into their eyes, say their name and repeat this:

My wish for you is peace

My wish for you is love

My wish for you is freedom from all suffering

There is only love between us.

I release you from the role you have played for me. You are free to go in peace. May you always be blessed with the abundance of the Universe and the presence of love. I forgive you and I release you.

Then I call on my Angels (Arch Angel Michael) to cut the energetic chords between us and seal them with love.

I close it by repeating their name again and saying you are peace, you are forgiven, you are love, you are blessed.

It’s really that simple.

You are far too precious as a messenger of love and light to invest your energies in these directions. Stay true to you and always remember it is an act of love for you to say no.

Just because you believe in love, self love and compassion does not mean to have to tolerate and “take” someone’s drama. It means the opposite. It often means closing the door, saying goodbye and wishing them well from afar.

Keep those vibes high, sparkly and full of heart misty goodness.

The Power of Soul Inspiration- Day 180: 365 Radical Self Love Project

I am completely blown away with the response to yesterdays blog post.

(If you missed it click here)

This was a true example of the power of writing from the heart and following the direction of my higher self and my intuition. Yesterday I had the experience of being completely moved and inspired on a soul level and I allowed that energy to flow through me to create a beautiful piece of writing.

What this brought into my awareness is when I surrender my will or what I believe will be the best topic and allow inspiration to actually direct where the creation is to go- it’s incredibly powerful.

tumblr_mnxgu8RzYm1sp30b1o1_500It has also given me massive insight into the deep longing for women to experience more men of this calibre and the deep desire of men to transform into their best versions.

It also has caused me to be really present to the topics and ideas that stir my soul and how when I am in those vibrations of soul stirring delicious inspiration the impact is profound.

The more we allow this moments of soul inspiration to fill us up the more soulful inspiration we beam out into the minds and hearts of those around us. This is a gift we allow for ourselves and that we give to each other.

I am so excited to take this beautiful nugget of awareness into my work and into my life and allow more of these soulful inspirations to fill up my experience and infuse more love and blessings into the content I have the honour of producing.

The-Research-on-GratitudeI have so much love and gratitude for each and everyone of you who make my experience as a writer so fulfilling. Thank you lovers!

Dancing in the Streets- Lifts the Spirits Everytime- Day 125: 365 Radical Self Love Project

Today my energy was lower than it usually is

radical self love kelsey grantNo matter what I did today I was just having “one of those days” where it’s just a little more challenging to stay positive and not get triggered.

I feel so blessed that today I had the support of my wonderful man around to be there when I needed to talk, rant and clear. He was there to give me hugs when I needed them, a shoulder when I needed to cry and some truly lovely words when I needed a pep talk/reminder of why I am doing everything I am right now.

Still I found myself walking around with the essence of a thundercloud over my head.

Sensing my inner tension my partner suggested we go outside, get some fresh air and go for a walk. Although slightly resistant I knew it would help.

We bundled up headed out into the foggy night and allowed the internal clearing to sink in a little more.

On our way home still sensing my “seriousness” my lovely partner began to twirl me in the street. This broke me out of being in my head and brought me back to the present moment. It made me laugh, it made me smile inside and out. With a new lightness in my step and in my head we continued our walk home. For this I am incredibly grateful.

As we approached our apartment we saw the most amazing thing.

A street dancing extravaganza

The dancerOne woman-all alone, dressed in a bright and bold outfit, dancing in the street. Her head phones where on, eyes were closed, totally in the moment, just dancing away to what looked like a professionally choreographed number. As I observed this incredible brave act of self expression I also witnessed the snickering of people walking by and it got me to thinking.

We are all mirrors

She was living her truth, living her life by her terms, doing exactly what made her happy in that moment and for it she was being judged by external passer-by’s. I have come to learn that the judgements of others are simply cover ups for the suppression of their own self expression. People who judge others especially in this sense, on some level, wish they could be that free, they wish they could have that much courage and bravery to step out and be different and not give a shit about what anyone else thinks.

radical self love kelsey grantWhen we see someone living their truth it immediately highlights where in our lives we are not. This triggers us and instead of recognizing and saying “hmmm I’m totally going into judgement-what does this situation mean about me? Where am I not living my truth?”- we judge, ridicule and make fun of those who are leading by courageous example.

Dancing girl on the street’s of Yaletown I freaking acknowledge you

I acknowledge you for your bravery, for your courage, for your beautiful self expression, for your contribution of love energy into the world and for reminding me just how precious it is to live according to my internal compass and my heart. For this I am very grateful to you.

In the spirit of dancing in the street…

3 Really Good Reasons Why Being a Homebody Rocks Day 76: 365 Radical Self Love Project

Some days are just meant for being a homebody.

I love being a homebody and today I practiced it full out. There are just times in life when I am honestly just not feeling social or feel like leaving the cozy comfort of my home. I reflected on my homebody-ness today and came up with three really good reasons why being a homebody rocks, here they are:

inspiring-quotes-about-life-gratitude11. It gives me a chance to really appreciate how amazing my home and life is. When I take time to actually be at home I am really present to all that I do have- a beautiful apartment, a view of the ocean and the mountains, a fridge full of food, all the tools and technology I could ever need and all the other beautiful ‘things’ we have around the house. The time for reflection on all that I do have immediately activates gratitude and alignment with abundance.

428365_203325109773704_285164301_n2. I can rock the PJ attire all day if I want to. From time to time wearing pajamas all day long is just a must in my books. Not having to get ready for the world is often a really nice break from the norm. Don’t get me wrong I love getting ready, looking pretty and dressing up and I think there is everything great with it. Sometimes though I just don’t want to and being a homebody allows me the freedom to be me- pj’s and all.

1069798_10153104163760145_121570179_n3. It’s cozy and comfortable and  the best excuse ever to wear rainbow slipper socks 😉 I am naturally a snuggly, cuddly person. I like to be warm, cozy and comfortable. On my stay at home days I love snuggling up with some warm tea or coffee, wrapping myself in a blanket, turning on some cozy lighting if necessary and rocking out my days work all while wearing rainbow slipper socks or fuzzy socks of any kind. To me this is perfection and a way to recharge my batteries while still being productive.

Lets be honest there are just days when we don’t feel like being “on” or being social. While our lives may not always permit us to stay at home all day or work from home we can activate the gloriousness of being a homebody throughout our week as time permits.

Make it a priority to invest time as often as you can into reflecting on the good, relaxing and wearing comfy clothes that make you feel great and rocking your version of cozy rainbow slipper socks. Doing so will most certainly help you to stay connected to you, be ok with taking care of your needs (self care) and honouring what your body and energy needs most on a regular and consistent basis (self respect and self love).

Pride, Mom Visits and the Epic Birthday Adventures Continue Day 44: 365 RSL Project

HAPPY NEW DAY/ HAPPY PRIDE!!!! Today my momma flew into town for a quick little bday visit. It’s pretty cool that my mom flies out to the city I live in on her few days off just to spend some time together and celebrate my birthday.

These occasions are just so incredibly precious. There was a time when I honestly didn’t truly value the importance and amazingness of the relationship with my mom. I can say I am truly lucky to have awoken to the preciousness of a mother daughter relationship and am so incredibly blessed to have done some big time solo healing in order to open and allow our relationship to develop into the incredible friendship we now share.

photo copy 12I feel so lucky to have such a loving and caring mom, who truly does support me in every single way possible. To have a relationship so connected that she flew out to Vancouver (after flying to LA last week to support me in my show) to take Connor and I out to celebrate my birthday.

photo copy 13Before our dinner tonight we quested around this beautiful city, went for breakfast, visited our favourite book store, took a lil gander to a crystal store, picked up some new friends for the crystal collection, got mom her new ipad and then made our way to an incredible dinner.

I am so happy to have the relationship we now do- and it has come formed through our cultivation of these four principals:

1. Honesty

2. Vulnerability

3. Openness

4. Unconditional Love

We each have travelled our unique paths to lead us to this point in time. Both paths have been filled with juicy lessons and opportunities for growth and deeper connection. I am so happy we both stepped up to the plate many years ago and freely chose to co-create a better relationship. The bond we share now is beyond what I ever thought was possible and I can truly say my mom is one of my best friends.

I am so grateful for this mini weekend trip and all the magical blessings it has already ushered in. How does it get any better than this?!

photo copy 10Love you momsie!!!

P.S. Mega gratitude to my moms friend Tony who blessed us with some incredibly pie for birthday dessert! Feeling very loved! ❤
